Hi, I’m Sarah.
Communications guide every aspect of both our professional and personal lives. As a communications specialist, I understand just how important an effective communicator can be.
I graduated from York College of Pennsylvania in 2022 with a major in Professional Writing and minors in Creative Writing and Literary Studies. Since July of 2025, I’ve been serving as the Assistant to the Township Manager in Hellam Township, PA, where I have created content, cultivated positive relationships with the public, planned, coordinated, implemented and led events, and improved workflow and operating procedures for township administration.
As part of my curriculum at York College at Pennsylvania, I received extensive experience in literary publishing. I was a website editor for fall 2021 for the online component of the college’s literary magazine, The York Review. In addition to my editing work for the publication, I also helped direct the social media accounts of the York Review. I was published twice on the website, and twice in the 28th volume. I also wrote a number of articles for the college’s newspaper, The Spartan, in fall 2021.
Also in fall 2021, I completed my first internship with Calypso Editions, a virtual, nonprofit literary press. While I was with Calypso, I wrote and published social media content, interviewed author Anthony Bonds, and published a blog post on my interview with him.
From spring to fall 2022, I completed an independent internship with Celebrate Gettysburg Magazine, based out of Gettysburg, PA. At Celebrate Gettysburg, I created social media content, proofread articles, and collaborated on article ideas. I published several articles with the magazine on various topics, ranging from interviews to historical pieces. I also worked for York College for almost two years as a staff writer in the Communications department, and then as a Technical Assistant for Northeast SARE.
Additionally, as the Writer for the Communications Office at York College, I worked extensively with publishing to help produce York College Magazine, which was published twice a year. I primarily wrote content for the college’s website, including blog posts and series articles, but I also wrote articles for the annual Philanthropic Investment Report, released to the college’s donor list each year.
I have worked in many different communication mediums, including magazine and newspaper publishing, blogging, traditional print publishing, academic writing, report creation, and minute-taking. I have also conducted comparative research, participated in content and idea generation, and designed graphics including raffle tickets, posters and flyers, social media posts, and more.
On the technical side, I have experience in Microsoft Office, G-Suite, Airtable, WordPress, Monday, Trello, Squarespace, Hootsuite, Mailchimp, Canva, Notion, and other web applications. I also have almost 7 years of combined retail experience, and extensive knowledge of municipal government and higher education. I consider myself a creative, motivated, and dedicated individual, and my ideal field is somewhere where I can utilize all of my skills in some capacity.
